The Commission inaugurates a training program to review TVET sector policies for the inclusiveness of women and people with disabilities
Dr. Imad Salem, on behalf of His Excellency Dr. Ziad Jweiles, President of the National TVET Commission, inaugurated a training program on reviewing policies, procedures manuals, and educational and training materials in the vocational and technical education sector to ensure the inclusiveness of women and persons with disabilities in cooperation with UNESCO and Optimum Consulting Company.
Dr. Salem emphasized that one of the most important outputs of this training program is to work on developing a unified national guide for vocational and career guidance for vocational and technical education and training, which takes into account the specificity of work in each of the main ministries providing vocational and technical education and training services, ensuring inclusiveness and increasing the participation of women and persons with disabilities in the system.
Two training courses will be implemented in each session with the participation of 25 participants from each of the Ministries of Labor, Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the National TVET Commission, during two weeks from 9/11/2023 to 20/9/2023.
Dr. Salem confirmed that this training will contribute to intervening to support existing efforts to unify and institutionalize work in the vocational and technical education sector and improve education outcomes and link them to the labor market, especially regarding vocational and career guidance and its role in providing comprehensive educational and training programs.
